River rats!

Daddy, Mommy, Tess and Miles (Abbie was with a friend) went to the San Marcos River for a dip the other day to beat the OPPRESSIVE heat!

Abbie/Daddy campout

Abbie went camping with Daddy for one night at Palmetto State Park, just outside of Luling. It was hot, to say the least, but we cooked some burgers and fished and swam in the San Marcos River and made a camp fire. It was a great deal of fun, and we wished we had more time. On the way back, we stopped at one of the really good Luling bbq joints and knocked out some brisket.

Trophy time

We had a great season this year with the Marlins. We lost only two games and finished second in the league, which was pretty good because the top team was by far the best, most experienced team in the league. Miles was one of our best players, and proved to be an accomplished fielder and a smooth lefty hitter. He's got one more year in t-ball next season. Here's a photo and video from the awards ceremony.

Crossing the bridge

Abbie's troop "crossed the bridge" into the next level of Girl Scouts at a special ceremony in a very pretty old church in Buda. Hannah and Jacqueline are posing with the Blackwell girls in the top photo.

Cinderella Ball, 2009

The girls and Daddy went to a Girl Scouts' Cinderella Ball and had a ball. We did some dancing and some eating and some laughing. If you dance and eat and laugh on the same day, it's usually a pretty good day. Beautiful girls! Madalyn and Ana - two girls in Abbie's troop - are between the Blackwell girls in the bottom photo.

Marlins at Chucky Cheese's house

Several of the Marlins gathered following the season for a birthday part for Ryan Glover at Chucky Cheese's house on Ben White in Austin. Pizza and fun was had by all. Daddy and Miles also got in some good video game time.
