Abbie on wheels...

Abbie and Mommy went to a skating rink in Austin to celebrate Allison's birthday...Beautiful girls! Especially the one in the pink do-rag.

For the birds...

The kids got various bird accesseries - AND, they got to paint them! Tweet-tweet!

Michael & Ashleigh visit

Had a good time visiting with Michael and Ashleigh, who stayed a few days after flying in from California. It was also good to see Grandmother Ina - she may live to be 200!

Thanksgiving - 3

Thanksgiving - 2

Thanksgiving 2008 - 1

Had a great visit to Abilene for Thanksgiving - took lots of photos! Had some laughs, got a bunch a gifts, had even more laughs. It was fun. We're all very blessed! We always have Christmas in Abilene on Thanksgiving, then have Christmas at Christmas time in Oklahoma. I'll post these as a series of posts, because you can't load too many photos on one post. Hence, several postings...

UT vs. Baylor, 2008

I lucked into some tickets to the UT Alumni Center, and while Angie was working the concession stand to raise money for our softball team, me and the kids hung out at the Center watching the game on the big screen and eating free food, and drinking free drinks. We did some tailgating, met the cheerleaders and watched the team unload from the buses before the game. Fun!

Update

Well, I've been awful about posting for the last, oh, six weeks or so. We've had a ton happen - Tess is a black belt, Angie's a year older, we've elected a new president...At any rate, within the next couple of days I'm going to drop some more posts on you. Sorry for the delay...

Miles...north of the Red River

Miles spent a few days in Oklahoma with Grandma and Grandpa and all of his other Oklahoma peeps. He had a great time, as you can tell...That's Miles wearing the helmet, not Larry. Miles said during his stay he had a wonderful time: he went to the movies, ate ice cream, got toys and...learned from Larry what the bathroom terms No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 mean. Thanks Grandpa!

More Halloween shots...

Here are some individual shots of Cowgirl, Zombie Girl and Hulk.

Tess...minus tonsils and adenoids

Tess was a bit rocked coming out of anesthesia last week. She was thrashing about in this bed...Miles touched her, kissed her, then was a bit upset in Angie's arms. All is well now.

Chee-tah, Chee-tah, Chee-tah!

Abbie and her crew (with their moms) took in the recent Cheetah Girls concert at the Erwin Center. Good times...good times. If you weren't there, you are not part of the in crowd.

Kick'em all out!

Here's an excerpt from a recent New York Times article about a member of the House of Representatives. Check out the type of "legislation" these guys are passing. Great quote at the end...this really sums up a lot of the problems we're having in this country, that's for sure...all, while Rome burns....

Then he asked for a list of the three bills to see if he really did want to vote yes: A nonbinding resolution “recognizing that we are facing a global food crisis.” O.K., Davis said puckishly. That’s a yes.
A second resolution “expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the emergency communications services provided by the
American Red Cross are vital resources for military-service members and their families.” O.K., another yes.
A third resolution “condemning the use of television programming by
Hamas to indoctrinate hatred, violence and anti-Semitism toward Israel in Palestinian children.” A third yes. “They read me pretty well,” Davis said, chuckling at the absurdity of it all.
Then he shook his head. Three resolutions offering platitudes, none of them carrying the force of law, none of them actually doing anything. Davis asked for a list of all 20 bills on the floor that day — naming post offices, recognizing the anniversary of Bulgaria’s independence, honoring an old American war sloop.
Davis wanted me to have the list. “Tell them about the important work we’re doing while Rome burns,” he said.

Grandma B and Miles

Grandba B and Miles had a great time when she and Papa B watched him during the day while Angie was in Oklahoma. We caught them horsing around in the front yard just before they left for home. The other night, while laying in bed, Miles said - out of the blue - "I miss Grandma B."

Check out Grandma B's sprinting style - she looks a little like Jesse Owens.

Abbie volleyball debut

Abbie played her first volleyball game last weekend - here's a quick little video of some of the action - her first serve! Also some still photos before the match began. Go 49ers!
